Cold tonight and Wednesday..Warm-up for Thursday

Tuesday 4:30pm  An area of high pressure located near the Great Lakes will slowly move south of the Maritimes over the next couple days, meanwhile a low pressure system will develop off the east coast of the US and track up the coast. This system is expected to spread some rain or flurries along coastal sections of NS on Thursday. High pressure slides south of the region on Friday then a frontal trof will approach the area from the northwest on Saturday. Long range charts are still not agreeing but a low may develop along this trof Saturday night and cross the area on Sunday. Significant amounts of snow possible. The picture will become clearer in a day or so.

Precipitation.. 1) Few flurries possible this evening and overnight especially eastern areas. 2) Few flurries possible on Thursday as a coastal system scrapes by. 3) Flurries should develop early on Saturday 4) Snow possible late Saturday into Sunday.

Wind.. Brisk northwest tonight diminishing to light westerly Wednesday morning becoming brisk southwesterly Sunday afternoon. Southwest winds becoming light northerly on Thursday shifting back to southwesterly on Friday and Saturday.

Temperatures.. Tonight -14, Wednesday -8, Thursday -2, Friday -2, Saturday -3

Forecast

Tonight.. Clearing up west, cloudy down east with a few flurries ending before dawn, Brisk northwest winds and lows near -14.

Wednesday.. Sunny, light west/southwest winds and highs near-8.

Thursday.. Sunny up west, cloudy periods down east with a few flurries. Light northerly winds -2.

Friday.. Sunny , light southwest winds -2

Saturday.. Cloudy with flurries in the morning becoming periods of snow by evening. -3
