Saturday 6:00pm An east-west ridge of high pressure is located across NS this afternoon and will continue to drop south away from the region. A weak frontal trough will approach the northwestern Maritimes on Sunday evening then moves off to the northeast on Monday. Right now only expecting a few clouds from this system. A stronger cold front will be approaching the region Tuesday night and is expected to cross the Island early on Wednesday morning. Showers and isolated thundershowers will accompany this frontal passage. An upper level low pressure system is forecast to linger over the region for the remainder of Wednesday the highs pressure will build in for Thursday. A mainly zonal flow will develop for the remainder of the week with a number of frontal Troughs expected to cross the Maritimes resulting in unsettled weather conditions through the end of the week.
Precipitation. Showers should develop late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning associated with the cold front then lingering over the region for the remainder of Wednesday thanks to the upper level low. About 10-15 mms rain possible. Showers expected again on Saturday thanks to a another cold front.
Thunderstorms.. Storms possible on Tuesday and Saturday of next week.
Wind.. Increasing southwest wind will shift to the north early on Wednesday then back to the west on Thursday.
Temperatures.. After a cold night last night temperatures rebounded into the low 20′s today. Temperatures will remain near normal through until Wednesday with a cool down expected after the frontal passage. Temperatures should be below normal Wednesday and Thursday.
