Sunday 9:50am.. A north-south ridge of high pressure is currently located over the Maritmes this morning and will move east to the area today. A warm front will lift north during the day resulting in a warm muggy day followed by a cold front which will be approaching the region tonight. Showers and thunderstorm may develop across NB today then become more widespread tonight as the cold front approaches. The cold front should cross PEI tomorrow afternoon followed by an area of high pressure for Tuesday and Wednesday. Upper low pressure system will be crossing the area on Thursday/Friday with a risk of showers and thundershowers.
Precipitation.. Showers should move from west to east across the island beginning early tomorrow morning ending early Tuesday morning. Total rainfall in the 10 mm range but could be locally higher under heavy downpours. Showers again possible again on Thursday/Friday.
Thunderstorms.. Storms possible on Monday across the island.
Wind.. Increasing southerly wind today and tonight shifting to northwesterly tomorrow afternoon behind the cold front. Northerly winds shifting back to southerly on Wednesday morning. Southwest winds continue through Friday.
Temperatures.. Hot today, slightly cooler tomorrow, then below normal on Tuesday. Back to normal beginning on Wednesday.
