Friday 6:30am A complicated weekend weather forecast as a large area of low pressure near the Great Lakes tracks slowly to the north. This will cause the frontal boundary that is currently draped across the Maritimes to lift north as a warm front. This will keep a threat of showers and thundershowers across the Maritimes right through until Sunday. This entire weather system will pull away from the area on Monday as high pressure builds in. Another system is expected to approach the region on Wednesday evening with a renewed threat of showers and thundershowers.
Precipitation.. Hard to pin down timing but a threat of showers will exist right through until Monday afternoon. Amounts will vary significantly and the models are not helping with such a large spread anywhere from 5 mms to as much as 40 mms. Showers expected to return on Wednesday evening.
Thunderstorms. Risk of thundershowers today through the weekend, then again on Wednesday.
Wind.. Light northeast today becoming brisk southeast on Saturday evening. Brisk southwest winds on Sunday becoming brisk westerly on Monday. Light winds on Tuesday.
Temperatures.. Expected to be at or slightly above normal values through the forecast period.
