Thursday 5:45pm.. Low pressure system located just along the Maine coast south of the Bay Of Fundy this afternoon has already spread rain across NS today. This rain will work into the Island over the next few hours as the low tracks slowly across the region. Rain should taper to showers near noon as the low begins to pull away. Weak high pressure will build in for Saturday then a cold front will sweep across the area on Saturday night into Sunday morning. High pressure builds in once again for Sunday night but will be short lived as another coastal low pressure system approaches early on Monday with indication of more significant rainfall. Will know more on this in later posts. High pressure settles in across eastern Canada Tuesday through Friday.
Precipitation. Rain will develop across the Island this evening and taper to showers near dawn tomorrow. Indications are of 15-25 mms rain overnight tonight with another 5 mms in showers during the day tomorrow. Showers should begin Saturday night ending by noon on Sunday. Another 5-10 mms expected. Rain should begin again Monday evening ending Tuesday morning. Still too early to go into details on this system.
Thunderstorms.. There will be a risk of thundershowers this evening/overnight and early tomorrow morning. Risk again Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Wind.. Light southeast wind tonight becoming easterly tomorrow morning then light and variable during the day as the low tracks across the region. Winds will shift to northerly on Sunday as the cold front cross the region then back to southerly on Monday. Wind information for Monday depends on the track of the coastal low which should become better defined in upcoming posts.
Temperatures.. Will be running a few degrees either side of normal over the forecast period with the warmest day being on Saturday and coolest days being Friday, Sunday and Monday.

Friday.. Rain tapering to showers near dawn with risk of thundershowers in the morning. Another 5 mms rain possible. Light southwest winds, highs near 21.
Saturday.. Cloudy with a few sunny breaks, Showers/thundershowers developing in the evening, light southwest winds, highs 25.
Sunday. Showers/thundershowers ending near noon followed by a few sunny breaks, Winds shifting to northerly near noon with highs near 21.
Monday.. Overcast with showers developing in the evening.
Tuesday/Thursday.. Mix of sun and cloud. Seasonal temperatures..
