Friday 7:30am The low pressure system that gave all the rain to the region last night in located over Prince County this morning which will slowly track eastward today. 51.4 mms rain was recorded at my site here in the Bonshaw area. High pressure will build in across the Maritimes briefly tonight and early tomorrow then a cold front will approach the region from Saturday evening and Sunday. One of the models I use develops a low pressure system along this front and moves it into the region on Monday with another significant rainfall event, but this will need watching as this is the only model to develop this system. Mid week is now becoming a little more unsure as a couple of system are threatening the area. An upper level trough and a coastal low pressure system.
Precipitation.. The rainfall is basically over b ut a few lingering showers or periods of drizzle is expected today. More showers expected overnight tonight the the showers expected with the cold front should begin Sunday afternoon ending by dawn on Monday with another 20 mms possible but this will need watching as only one model is forecasting this. Confidence is low now for mid week with a couple systems in the area.
Thunderstorms.. Risk of thunderstorms for PEI is diminishing this morning but eastern regions of Kings county has the best chance today. Chance of storms again between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Wind.. Light southwest winds today through Sunday becoming northwesterly on Monday then west to northwest through Wednesday.
Temperatures.. Will be near normal through the forecast period with the warmest days expected to be on Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 25/26 range.

Monday. Rain ending early then partial clearing, brisk west winds, highs 22.
