Sunny today, showers tonight

Thursday 8:00am A ridge of high pressure is located over the Maritimes this morning and will slowly move to the east today, meanwhile a cold front will be approaching from the west and is expected to cross the island after midnight tonight. Some cloud and a few showers possible with this frontal passage. Cooler air will invade the Maritimes as high pressure builds in behind the front which should last until Monday. Another cold front will be sweeping across the region during the day on Tuesday with a risk of showers and thundershowers.

Precipitation.. Chance of a few showers after midnight ending before dawn tomorrow. Showers expected again on Tuesday.

Thunderstorms.. Very slight chance of thundershowers overnight tonight.

Wind..Light southwest winds will shift to the northwest near dawn tomorrow becoming northeasterly on Saturday then shifting back to the southwest on Sunday. Southwest winds will continue through early Tuesday when a shift back to the northwest occurs as a result of the cold front.

Temperatures..Warm again today becoming slight cooler tomorrow and Saturday then warm again for Sunday and Monday. Cooler again for Tuesday.

Forecast..

Today. sunny becoming cloudy this evening, increasing southwest winds with highs near 25.

Tonight.. cloudy with showers developing after midnight, slight chance of a thundershower. Light southwest winds veering to westerly near dawn, lows near 16.

Tomorrow.. Cloudy with showers ending early morning then mix of sun and cloud, light west winds veering to northwest before noon, highs 21.

Saturday.. Sunny, light northeast winds, highs 23

Sunday.. Cloudy periods, light southwest winds, highs 25

Monday.. Sunny, brisk southwest winds, highs 25

Tuesday.. Cloudy with a few showers, brisk southwest winds veering to northwest late in the day, highs 21
