Friday 6:30pm. A ridge of high pressure approaching form the west is expected to crest over the Island early Saturday morning then slide off to the east. The southerly winds behind this ridge will allow temperatures to once again climb to well above normal for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with increasing humidities as well. A cold front will approach from the west later Tuesday bringing a threat of showers and Thundershowers. Much cooler air expected to invade the region beginning on Wednesday. Another trough of low pressure will cross the area on Thursday and Friday bringing another threat of showers.
Precipitation.. Next real chance of showers appears to be late Tuesday as the cold front approaches then again on Thursday/Friday.
Thunderstorms. Will need to watch for possible thunderstorm development over NB on Monday which may slide across Prince county. Thunderstorms possible again on Tuesday evening with the cold front.
Wind.. Light northeast winds tonight will shift to the southwest early Saturday morning. Brisk southwest winds will continue through Tuesday evening when a shift to the northwest is expected.
Temperatures.. At or above normal temperatures expected with the warmest days expected on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
Tropics.. Tropical Storm Isaac is slowly strengthening about 100 miles south of Haiti this afternoon and is expected to make landfall on that country this evening then continue moving northwest approaching the Florida Keys on Sunday. Isaac is then expected to make a second landfall on the Florida panhandle as a hurricane Tuesday afternoon. Will need to watch the movement of the storm after that for any effects on the Maritimes later in the week.
