Friday 7:30am A cold front slipped across the Island during the overnight hours. Showers and thundershowers were occurring across the west but the front weakened during the night time hours as it continued to track east. High pressure is now building in from the west and should crest over the island Saturday morning then slide off to the east on Sunday/Monday. Another cold front is expected to swing through the Maritimes on Tuesday with showers and thundershowers. High pressure expected to return on Wednesday.
Precipitation.. Maybe an afternoon isolated pop-up shower over the next few days. Showers expected on Tuesday with the next cold front.

Wind.. Northwest winds today becoming southeast on Saturday then shifting to southwesterly on Sunday morning. Southwesterlies continue until late Tuesday when a shift to the northwest occurs due to the frontal passage.

Tropics.. Tropical storm Isaac is a poorly organized storm this morning with max winds of 45 MPH. The storm has been tracking west over the past number of days and is expected to turn northwestward tracking across Cuba then toward the Florida Straits. The storm should gain hurricane status once it pulls away from Cuba Sunday night. Expected landfall is somewhere along the Florida panhandle or Mississippi Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning.
