Saturday 6:30am A northeast-southwest frontal trough is located across central PEI this morning. This trough will begin to move very slowly to the northeast today, meanwhile a cold front will cross the region from the west on Sunday. Will be watching a low pressure system with tropical characteristics tracking northward late on Monday. Models are keeping this system to the east and tracking into Newfoundland with significant rain. A ridge of high pressure will cross the Maritimes early on Tuesday morning followed by yet another frontal trough for Thursday.
Precipitation. RAIN should taper to a few showers by midnight tonight then end before dawn tomorrow with additional mounts of 50 mms possible. Rain expected to begin again early Thursday morning.

Wind.. Southerly winds will shift to late Sunday night behind the cold front then shift back to southwesterly on Tuesday once the ridge of high pressure crests over the island. Winds will then shift back to northwesterly late Thursday behind the cold front.
Temperatures.. Above normal today and tomorrow becoming cooler on Monday behind the cold front then back to normal for Tuesday through Thursday. Cooler on Friday.
