Tuesday 8:00pm An area of high pressure is passing south of NFLD this afternoon was responsible for the clearing skies across PEI today, meanwhile a weakening area of low pressure will be approaching the region from the southwest tomorrow and will spread rain across the area beginning tomorrow evening. A stronger trough of low pressure will cross the Maritimes on Thursday bringing much cooler temperatures then another trough will sweep across the region on Friday bringing a reinforcing shot of cold air. Temperatures will be cold enough to support some light accumulating snow across northwestern NB. Flurries may even be possible across PEI during the colder evening and overnight hours on Friday. High pressure will build in for the Saturday then a warm front will approach late Sunday bringing milder air to the region for Monday but unfortunately it will also be accompanied with more rain as another low pressure system cross the Maritimes. This low will linger over the area through Tuesday as another cold front crosses the area bringing a return to the cooler temperatures.
Precipitation.. Showers possible during the day tomorrow as low pressure passes east of the region. Showers becoming periods of rain late Wednesday tapering to showers near noon on Thursday with rainfall amounts near 10 mms. Showers redevelop on Friday tapering to near midnight. Flurries are possible Friday night through Saturday morning. Rain redevelops Sunday afternoon and last through Tuesday afternoon.
Wind.. Light east winds tonight and tomorrow increasing to brisk/strong southerly on Thursday morning then shifting to strong westerly in the afternoon. Brisk northwest winds on Friday and Saturday increasing to brisk/strong southerly on Sunday. Light southwest winds on Monday shifting to westerly on Tuesday
Temperatures.. Near normal tomorrow warming up late Wednesday into early Thursday peaking before noon then falling behind the cold front during the day on Thursday. Well below normal temperatures expected on Friday through early Sunday becoming warmer Sunday night though early Tuesday. Colder temps expected on Wednesday.
