Thursday 6:00am An area of high pressure located over Maine will move eastward today cresting over the Island tonight. Light northwest winds ahead of the ridge will shift to light southeast in its wake, meanwhile a frontal tough of low pressure will approach the region on Friday night from the Great Lakes. Rain should begin Saturday morning as the trough approaches. The models are still have a tough time nailing down precipitation amounts across the region and there continues to be a big spread although 15-25 mms possible. High pressure will pass south of the Maritimes on Monday then a series of quick moving weak systems will pass across the region beginning on Tuesday bringing a few days of unsettled weather.
Precipitation.. Rain should begin Saturday morning and end on Sunday with amounts in the 15-25 mms range. Showers expected to begin again on Tuesday.
