Thursday 8:30pm A north-south ridge of high pressure is currently crossing PEI and will be east of the region tomorrow, meanwhile a frontal trough will approach the region from the west on Friday night pushing rain across PEI by early Saturday morning ending Sunday morning. Models have lowered amounts with 10-15 mms expected across the Island. Low pressure passing northwest of the Maritimes on Sunday will maintain brisk northwest winds across the island into Monday with chance of showers. Next week remains questionable as weak systems will be crossing the area.
Precipitation. Showers should begin Saturday morning becoming periods of rain in the afternoon ending on Sunday morning. Models have lowered rainfall amounts with 10 mms now expected. Showers possible next week with the unstable airmass over the region. Charts are even hinting at flurries on Thursday.
Wind.. Light southerly winds expected tonight and tomorrow increasing to brisk/strong southeast on Saturday diminishing and shifting to southwest on Sunday. Brisk southwest winds on Monday becoming northwesterly on Tuesday which will continue through Thursday.
Thunderstorms.. Possible isolated thundershowers on Saturday.
Temperatures.. Cool tonight becoming above normal Friday through Monday with the warmest days on the weekend. Cooler air returns on Tuesday.
