Wednesday May 10th 9:40am.. An upper level low continues to drift very slowly across northern New England/ Maritimes over the next couple days resulting in a continuation of the cloudy cool wet weather across PEI. A band of rain from a system well to the south of NS is streaming Northward right in to Cape Breton and continues to pound that area with flooding rains. There does appear to be some good news finally as this upper low is expected to drift away to the SE by late tomorrow night. This should allow some clearing as high pressure begins to build in from the NW. The high will crest over the island Saturday afternoon with lots of sunshine and light winds. Enjoy the brief sunshine as yet another low pressure system is expected to approach the region from the west on Sunday spreading rain across the Maritimes by Monday morning. Now this is still a long ways out and the various computer models are offering solutions for the long range forecast but the moral of this story is enjoy Saturday/Sunday as more rain expected by the start of next week.
