Saturday, May 13th 7:35am..A large area of high pressure centered over Labrador this morning is drifting eastward and will crest over the island over the next few hours. Sunshine and light winds will accompany this feature. A low pressure system has developed off eastern North Carolina now and is expected to intensify as it moves NE along the coast. This system will spread rain across the island during the overnight hours Sunday night into Monday morning as the low moves into the Gulf of Maine. The low will then begin to weaken and drift slowly ENE along the coast of NS during Tuesday maintaining windy wet weather across the island. A ridge of high pressure moves across the Maritimes on Wednesday. A warm front will approach on Thursday with cloud and a few showers followed by the associated cold front on Friday afternoon. The weekend is looking sunny with high pressure in control.
Precipitation... Rain should begin before dawn on Monday morning tapering to showers on Tuesday then ending later in the day giving 15-20 mms. Dry for Wednesday. Showers redevelop again on Thursday morning and continue into Friday. Dry for Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures..At or above normal expected today through Friday. Cool again on Saturday then back to normal on Sunday.
Wind..Light northerlies today shifting to light SE tomorrow increasing to brisk Sunday evening then easterly on Monday becoming northerly on Tuesday.
Hazards.. Wet driving conditions expected on Monday and Tuesday.
