Sunday May 21st 9:30am.. A strong low pressure system eat of Newfoundland and a ridge of high pressure through Quebec are combining to give the brisk northerly flow across PEI. This wind off the cold waters of the Gulf are making things chilly across PEI. The ridge of high pressure will drift eastward and is expected to crest over PEI later tomorrow. Sunshine and brisk northerly winds today ahead of the ridge. Increasing clouds during the day tomorrow but the winds are also expected to diminish. The next weather system will be approaching tomorrow night and should spread some showers across the region by Tuesday morning. This system moves away to the east on Wednesday allowing for some sunshine later in the day. The long range forecast into the later half of next week continues to be unsettled as a rather large area of low pressure slowly moves out of the Great Lakes.
Precipitation.. Dry for today and tomorrow. Showers should begin before noon on Tuesday ending near midnight. Wednesday is looking dry then more showers on Thursday and stretching through Saturday Morning.
Temperatures.. Bit of a roller coaster.. Cool today, warm tomorrow, Cool again on Tuesday, warm on Wednesday, then cool again Thursday through Saturday.
Wind, Brisk north winds today diminishing to this evening. Light NW winds tomorrow dropping off to calm tomorrow evening/overnight. Winds then becoming southerly by Tuesday morning increasing to light-brisk through the day on Tuesday. Light easterlies on Wednesday.
