Friday July 7th 9:00am.. The high pressure system that gave the sunshine over the past few days has moved SE of Newfoundland but continues to ridge back to the west. Clouds are now spreading across the Maritimes in advance of a couple of weather systems approaching. The first is a weak low pressure system that has developed south of Long Island. This system will track NE moving into by dawn tomorrow morning then across Cape Breton in the afternoon. At the same time a slow moving cold front currently back through Quebec is moving eastward and should across the island later tomorrow. A secondary cold front will then sweep across the region on Monday. This means some unsettled weather for the island beginning this evening. The unsettled weather continues into Tuesday and early Wednesday. High pressure is expected to bring a few days of sunshine beginning later Wednesday and lasting through Friday,
Precipitation.. Rain begins just after midnight ending before noon tomorrow giving 15-20 mms. Few showers again tomorrow evening and Sunday. The showers tomorrow evening could be locally heavy downpours.
Temperatures.. At or above normal throughout.
Wind.. Light-brisk SW today dropping off to light easterly tomorrow then back to brisk SW on Sunday. Light westerlies on Monday becoming brisk SW on Tuesday.
Thunderstorms.. Chance of storms tomorrow evening.
Maggies Trip.. Cloudy skies and a light-brisk SW wind for the boat ride over, Seas will be diminishing but could still be a bit rough. Rain develops near midnight tonight ending early tomorrow afternoon. Sunday looks nice but brisk SW winds may once again make for a rough boat ride back. Temps near 20 throughout. Have a nice weekend in the Maggies..
CBMF...Rain should begin after midnight ending by noon tomorrow giving a possible 15-20 mms. So a wet field and puddles for Saturday. Showers redevelop later tomorrow with chance of thundershowers. This Will need to be monitored closely for lightning activity. Then just a chance of showers again on Sunday. Brisk SW winds today, light easterly tomorrow then light-brisk SW again on Sunday. Afternoon temps in the mid 20’s.
