Tuesday, February 13th 6:10am.. An area of high pressure centered in the Great Lakes will drift eastward passing just south of NS overnight tonight. Mainly clear skies, cold temps and diminishing NW winds will accompany this feature. Milder air will return on southerly winds later Wednesday. Clouds will begin to spread across the Maritimes on Thursday as a frontal system approaches from the NW. A weak area of low pressure is then expected to develop along this front in southern New England on Friday morning. This system will then ripple NE along the front and into the Maritimes later Friday bringing some rain. Colder air will return late Friday as the cold front sweeps though with any left over showers changing to flurries. High pressure then dominates the Maritimes for the weekend. Another frontal system moves across the region on MOnday with cloud and showers/flurries.
Precipitation.. Fairly quiet with no big weather events.. Rain showers develop later Thursday and continue into Friday changing to flurries Friday evening. Weekend dry. Few rain showers on Monday, few flurries on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Temperatures.. Cold today, mild for Wednesday Thursday and Friday. Cold on Saturday, normal on Sunday, mild on Monday, normal on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Wind...Diminishing NW winds, today, calm this evening, brisk south westerlies tomorrow, light SW for Thursday and Friday. Winds then shifting to NW late Friday evening which will continue into Saturday and Sunday.
Hazards.. Any icy surfaces won’t melt into Wednesday afternoon.
