Friday, May 11th 6:40am.. A cold front oriented NE-SW is currently approaching western Prince county. This front will continues moving east sweeping across the island over the next few hours. Cloud and some shower activity possible. High pressure will then build in from the west cresting just south of the Maritimes tomorrow morning. Gusty NW winds will make for a cool day today. Clear and calm conditions tonight may set the stage for a cold night with possible frost inland low lying areas. Skies will cloud over later tomorrow as a A small area of low pressure moves east out of the Great Lakes. This system will race eastward passing south of NS on Sunday. The bulk of the rain is expected to cross Maine then into the Atlantic south of NS. Clouds and possible showers return Monday night as a cold front approaches and crosses the region. This front is then expected to stall in an east-west fashion across southern NS. A weather disturbance is then expected to ripple eastward along the front into NS bringing some rain for later Wednesday and Thursday.
Precipitation.. Few showers possible til noon today.. Few showers possible Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Rain Wednesday night into Thursday.
Temperatures.. Cool today and tonight. At or slightly below normal tomorrow and Sunday. Warm-up for Monday through Thursday afternoon followed by another cool down for Friday and Saturday.
Wind.. light SW winds now will shift to brisk NW winds by noon with the passage if that cold front. Winds should drop off to calm tonight then becoming light SW tomorrow. Light southerlies continue through Sunday and Monday shifting back to NW Monday night with the passage of another cold front. Light and variable winds mid week.
Hazards.. Wet driving conditions in any showers this morning.

Thunderstorms.. None expected for PEI but will be watching for possible strong storms passing just south of NS on Sunday associated with that area of low pressure.
