Monday, May 14th 7:00am.. The area of high pressure that gave the sunshine to the island over the past few days is being squeezed to the east today but should provide another day of sunshine and warm temperatures. . A weakening cold front will approach from the west tomorrow and is expected to move across the region tomorrow evening with cloud showers and possible thundershowers. Wednesday will be sunny and cool behind the cold front and high pressure crossing the region. Another cold front will be approaching from the west later Wednesday and should sweep across the island early Thursday with more clouds and showers. Skies are expected to clear Thursday afternoon as another area of high pressure approaches. The high crests over the Maritimes Friday afternoon the moves east. Clouds will once again be on the increase on Saturday as low pressure approaches from the SW with rain developing by evening. The left over front will be parked along southern NS on Sunday so will continue with cloud and few showers.
Precipitation.. Showers developing tomorrow afternoon ending near midnight. Another round of showers on Thursday then again later Saturday into Sunday.
Temperatures.. Above normal today and tomorrow. Cool on Wednesday behind the cold front then above normal again for Thursday through the weekend.
Wind.. Brisk S-SW winds today diminishing to light tonight then increasing once again to brisk tomorrow. Winds will then shift to the NW-N tomorrow evening with the frontal passage. Northerly winds diminish during the day on Wednesday shifting to SE later in the day. Winds then increase to brisk southerly Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Winds then shift to the north late Thursday with the cold frontal passage. Light westerly on Friday then increasing SW on Saturday.
Thunderstorms.. A very slight chance of a rumble Tuesday evening.
Hazards.. Wet driving conditions in any rain tomorrow night then again Wednesday night into Thursday.
