Thursday, May 17th 7:30am.. A low pressure system located over Anticosti Island this morning will continue to move east today to be located in northern Newfoundland later this afternoon. Rain from this system is currently falling just north of PEI. A cold front extending from the low back to the SW will sweep across the island this afternoon with some showers but more importantly a wind shift to the north which will usher in much cooler temperatures. High pressure will then build in from the NW tomorrow cresting over the island early evening. Saturday will start out sunny but clouds will be on the increase as an area of low pressure approaches from the SW. This system will spread some rain across the region by midnight Saturday night. The wet weather continues though all day Sunday as the system moves across the Maritimes. Improving conditions on Monday as the low pulls away. Sunshine expected on Tuesday but clouds will be on the increase later in the day as yet another low pressure system approaches from the west with rain developing before dawn on Wednesday morning and continuing most of the day. A cold front is expected to move across the island late Wednesday night which will introduce some very cool air for this time of year for Thursday. Precautions will need to be taken to protect plants. More on this over the upcoming days..
