Sunshine continues today across PEI.

Friday, June 14th 6:00am… A couple of disturbances will be approaching today which will give some cloud and showers to PEI beginning later this evening. Firstly a cold front will approach from the west then stall over PEI during the day tomorrow. Showers from this system will begin this evening. Secondly, an area of low pressure will approach from the south and pass just east of NS tomorrow which may feed some tropical moisture to the front enhancing rainfall. Skies clear after midnight tomorrow night as both these systems pull away to the east. Sunday is expected to be sunny but cool as the winds turn northerly in the wake of the frontal passage. An area of high pressure will then pass south of the Maritines Sunday night allowing the winds to turn more SW-W which will allow temperatures to climb well above normal for the beginning of next week. Sunshine continues through Wednesday as high pressure stalls in the Atlantic SE of the region. Clouds and possible showers associated with a cold front later Thursday afternoon.

Precipitation… Rain begins tomorrow evening ending Saturday evening giving 5-15 mms. The higher amounts have shifted to Kings county being closer to the storm track. Cant rule out a rumble of thunder.

Temperatures… Above normal today followed by a cool weekend. Warm up begins Monday. Looks like a heat wave for Wednesday and Thursday with temps close to 30.

Wind… Brisk SW winds today and tonight shifting to light-brisk NW on Saturday and Sunday in the wake of that cold front. Winds shift back to brisk SW later Mondays and continue through Thursday afternoon.

Hazards… Brisk winds for those on the water today. Wet driving conditions in rain beginning tomorrow evening with possible lightning. Heat and Humidity Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Watches/Warnings… None for PEI at this time.
