I had to suspend this blog for a short period while I was away on vacation. It was much warmer in the Caribbean.
An area of low pressure spinning just east of Cape Breton this morning will continue to give cloudy skies and chance of showers or drizzle to the eastern half of the island this morning but skies are expected to clear from west to east. West prince has already cleared as a ridge of high pressure approaches from the west. Sunny conditions are expected to continue through Tuesday morning as this feature slowly crosses the region although some increasing clouds on Tuesday with chance of showers late ahead of a warm front approaching from the west. The accompanying cold front then gets hung up and stalls over NB which should allow the sunshine and warm conditions to continue although the charts are showing clouds and chance of showers for Prince county which will be closer to this stalled front. The front eventually weakens and dissipates on Thursday as it drops south across PEI. A northerly flow on Thursday should result in clouds on Thursday and Friday. Filtered sunshine on Saturday as high pressure exits to the east. Increasing clouds on Sunday ahead of a disturbance approaching from the west.
Precipitation… Chance of showers this morning especially eastern half of PEI. Chance of showers especially western area beginning Tuesday night. This risk of showers continues through Wednesday and Thursday associated with that stalled weakening front especially western half.
Temperatures… One more cool day today then above normal conditions begin tomorrow.
Wind… Brisk north winds today diminishing and shifting to light southerly tomorrow which then continues through Wednesday. Winds shift to the north on Thursday indicating frontal passage and continue Friday. Winds turn SE on Saturday.
Hazards… Nil next few days.
