Sunny warm conditions continue today and tomorrow across PEI.

Tuesday, May 14th 6:15am… A NE-SW oriented ridge of high pressure will remain quasi-stationary over the Maritimes through Wednesday giving warm sunshine and light winds to PEI for the next couple days. Clouds and chance of showers on Thursday associated with a weakening cold front approaching from the west which then stalls and dissipates over the region later in the day. Mix of sun and cloud expected on Friday as high pressure tries to build back in over the region. Generally cloudy skies are expected on the weekend associated with a system passing by south of the Maritimes. PEI will be on the western fringe of the showers resulting in just a slight risk beginning Sunday. Sunshine will try and return for Monday then clouds and showers spread across the island on Tuesday associated with a cold front approaching from the NW.

Precipitation… Chance of showers on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Better chance on Tuesday.

Temperatures… At or above normal this period.

Wind… Very light winds during the day followed by calm conditions at night will continue through Friday. Brisk SE winds are expected to develop Friday evening and continue through Saturday.

Hazards… Risk of frost for the next few hours for inland low lying areas.

Watches/Warnings… Frost advisory issued for this morning.
