Warm conditions continue today across PEI.

Thursday, May 16th 8:00am… A NE-SW oriented cold front is draped across northwestern NB this morning and is accompanied by cloud and showers. This weakening front is slowly moving SE and should cross PEI later today which will be marked by a wind shift to the NE. More sunshine is expected tomorrow as high pressure builds back in. Unsettled conditions return for the weekend as an area of low pressure passes south of NS with a good chance of showers on Sunday. Sunshine then returns for Monday under a narrow ridge of high pressure. Clouds and chance of showers on Tuesday associated with a warm front lifting through the Maritimes. Sunny warm humid conditions on Wednesday in the warm sector. Long range for Thursday is hinting at some rain ahead of a cold front approaching from the west.

Precipitation… Very slight chance of a showers today. Best chances would be western PEI. Chance of showers on Sunday associated with that area of low pressure passing south of NS. Rain developing Thursday.

Temperatures… At or above normal today through Saturday. Slightly below normal on Sunday.

Wind… Light E-SE winds today shifting to N-NE this evening which then continues through tomorrow. Brisk ESE winds on Saturday dropping back to light on Sunday.

Hazards… Fairly quiet.

Watches/Warnings… None for PEI at this time.
