Saturday, May 25th 7:00am… An area of low pressure just NE of PEI this morning will continue to slide off to the east today resulting in a cloudy start to the day but clearing skies expected this afternoon as this feature moves away. A light NW winds on the wake of this system will keep things on the cool side especially along the north shore. A mix of sun and cloud expected tomorrow and Monday under an area of high pressure. Clouds will begin to spread across the region later Monday ahead of a larger area of low pressure lifting northward through the Great Lakes with rain developing late Tuesday afternoon associated with the occluded front. Sunshine returns on Wednesday as the front shifts east. Unsettled conditions on Thursday as secondary low pressure develops near Long Island and slowly begins to approach the Maritimes with showers developing later in the day. This system then stalls just south of NS though Saturday night keeping a threat of showers into the weekend.
Precipitation… Slight chance of a shower this morning. Showers begins late Tuesday afternoon ending before dawn Wednesday morning. Showers begins again Thursday evening and continue through Saturday evening.
Temperatures… Slightly below normal next few days followed by a return to normal on Tuesday.
Wind… Diminishing northerly winds today veering to easterly through tomorrow. Light east winds, continue Monday shifting and increasing to brisk-strong SE on Tuesday. Brisk southerlies on Wednesday.
Hazards… Nil next few days. Wet driving conditions in rain on Tuesday along with breezy conditions on the water as brisk-strong south winds develop.
