Monday, May 27th 6:15am… Fog has developed across parts of PEI this morning under an area of high pressure. This should burn off quickly after sunrise leading to a mainly sunny day today. Clouds will be on the increase tonight ahead of a frontal system approaching from the west with a few showers developing near dawn tomorrow. The showers become more frequent and heavier by noon but ending by midnight tomorrow night. Some sunshine returns on Wednesday as the dry slot behind the front moves through. Clouds and possible showers return late Wednesday into Thursday morning as a secondary cold front sweeps east across the Maritimes. Unsettled weather with clouds and possible showers continues into Friday but the long range models are now hinting at things drying out for the weekend with more sunshine expected but temperatures remaining on the cool side.
Precipitation… Chance of showers beginning near dawn tomorrow becoming more frequent by noon then ending near midnight. Slight chance of a shower Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Showers Thursday night into Friday morning.
Temperatures… Near or slightly above normal next few days then cooling off on Friday leading to a cool weekend.
Wind… Light SE winds today increasing to brisk-strong SE-S tomorrow afternoon veering to brisk SW on Wednesday. Light-brisk NE winds on Thursday.
Hazards… Windy conditions for those on the water tomorrow afternoon and evening. Wet driving conditions in rain tomorrow afternoon/evening.
