Tuesday, May 28th 5:45am… Skies have clouded over this morning across PEI ahead of a frontal system approaching from the west with a slight chance of a shower. Showers become more frequent this afternoon along with increasing southerly winds which may gust into the 60 or 70 KMH range. Showers should end near midnight tonight as this front moves east. The dry slot moves across the island tomorrow accompanied by some sunshine and lighter winds. A secondary cold front then drops down from the NW late tomorrow accompanied by another round of cloud and possible showers. Low pressure in southern New England will then ripple NE along this frontal boundary bringing more cloud and showers to the region for Thursday night into Friday. The air behind this system will be fairly chilly leading to a sunny but cool weekend.
Precipitation… Increasing chances of rain as we work through today which should end near midnight tonight. Slight chance of showers tomorrow night then again Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning.
Temperatures… At or slight;y above normal next few days. Things turn cooler for Friday and Saturday, Moderating temps on Sunday.
Wind… Brisk SE winds increasing to brisk-strong this afternoon then diminishing to brisk southerly tonight then brisk SW for tomorrow. Light NE winds develop Thursday and continue through the weekend.
Hazards… Windy conditions for those on the water today. Wet driving conditions in any rain next few days.
