Sunday, May 19th 8:15am… Clouds and a slight chance of showers expected this morning across PEI as an upper air disturbance moves through. Improving conditions tonight leading to some sunshine tomorrow as a ridge of high pressure builds in from Newfoundland. On Tuesday a weak old front will drop down from the north then stall just north of PEI. This may result in some patchy cloud and slight chance of a shower, Low pressure then ripples eastward along this stalled frontal boundary passing across the central Gulf from west to east on Wednesday. Again this will result in some cloud and a better chance of showers accompanied by a wind shift to the north as that front drops drops south then stalls over PEI keeping a threat of showers into Wednesday night. Clouds and showers continue on Thursday as that front then begins to lift back to the north. A wind shift back to the south will mark frontal passage. Unsettled conditions in the warm sector Thursday night into Friday with some cloud and showers. An area of low pressure then passes through the Gulf Friday evening resulting in a wind shift back to the NW. Sunshine expected on Sunday under high pressure.
Precipitation… Chance of showers today. Slight chance of showers on Tuesday. The remainder of the week remains unsettled with a risk of showers due to that front stalling over PEI.
Temperatures… At or above normal through Friday. Cool weekend as a northerly flow develops off the cold Gulf.
Wind… Light east winds today becoming more SE tomorrow then brisk SW on Tuesday. Winds continue to veer becoming light westerly on Wednesday then northerly Wednesday night.
Hazards… Wet driving conditions in any rain.
