Sunshine returns later today across PEI.

Monday, May 20th 6:15am… Some low clouds linger this morning but they should burn off to a mainly sunny and warm day today across PEI under a ridge of high pressure. Clear skies continue into tonight then some clouds start to inch across the region tomorrow ahead of a weak frontal system dropping down from the north. This front will be stronger when it actually reaches PEI on Wednesday resulting in  a chance of showers. This front then stalls across PEI or very close to us through the remainder of  Wednesday and into Thursday accompanied by cloud and showers. The unsettled weather continues into Friday as the accompanying cold front moves through. Saturday is questionable as a weak area of low pressure passes eastward through the Gulf. Sunshine return on Sunday with high pressure cresting overhead. Increasing clouds on Monday as another disturbance approaches from the south.

Precipitation… Very slight chance of showers tomorrow. Slightly better chance on Wednesday. Best chance will be on Thursday. Another slight chance of showers on Saturday.

Temperatures… Generally above normal today through Friday. Saturday will be cool especially near the north shore. Slow moderating temperatures on Sunday.

Wind… Light SE winds today veering to light-brisk SW tomorrow then veering again to light NW-N on Wednesday as that surface front moves through. Winds keep veering to E-SE on Thursday then southerly on Friday.

Hazards… Generally quiet next few days. Breezy on the water tomorrow.

Watches/Warnings… None for PEI at this time.
