Warm-up begins today across PEI.

Wednesday, May 20th 7:15am… A large area of high pressure centered over Quebec will give more sunshine to the island today as it drifts to the SE. Temps will be quite warm beginning tomorrow as the winds shift to the SW. A weak cold front will be approaching from the north on Friday with cloud and chance of showers. This front will bring a temporary end to the warm weather as it crosses the island Friday afternoon leading to a cool Saturday but sunshine returns as high pressure builds back in over the Maritimes.

Precipitation… Very dry for the next 7 days with just a slight chance of showers Friday afternoon/evening.

Temperatures… At or above normal this period except for Saturday which will quite cool.

Wind… Light westerlies today increasing to brisk SW tomorrow then shifting to northerly on Friday marking the cold frontal passage. Light north winds continue in Saturday making for a cool day. Winds then shift back to SW beginning Sunday.

Hazards… Nil
